Yes, Porcupine tree is certainly one of my favorite bands. Can't say Harrison has really done anything to catch my attention though... but that doesn't mean he isn't a great drummer.

That 12-year-old is so awesome that I nearly cried.
But the fact that Gavin Harrison is not mentioned bothers me. I adore his work, and I assume you've all heard it on Porcupine Tree's music.

I can agree that about Alex Rodriguez. I didn't like him nearly as much in his later band Saosin. But he was perhaps the biggest reason I followed Open Hand.

The first Tool clip you chose is precisely the excerpt that immediately comes to my mind when I think of excellent drumming, so kudos on making that your first as well. I don't have Open Hand's albums so I can't really form an educated opinion, but based on the clips you chose I'd classify the drummer as somewhere between good and great, but not amazing.
