I just recently started listening to God Is an Astronaut. Another post-rock band that is good is, If These Trees Could Talk. They are from Ohio.

God Is An Astronaut is one of my favorite post-rock bands, grouped with Explosions In The Sky under "Chillingly beautiful music for quiet winter nights".

I had never seen the video for Coda before, either...

God is an astronaut is heavenly!!! very sad to hear that attendance has been so low! Here in Hyderabad(india) a city totally unheard by all post rock bands i am sure atleast half as many will turn. How i wish explosions or god is an astronaut or sigur ros come down here.. We dont even get a chance to buy the original stuff.. Aah but cant blame anyone as even the global rock bands have just started coming here..

I just wanted to add that most of the snyth melodies are actually "sung" by the guitarist through some effects... and seeing these guys live increased my appreciation for them tenfold.
