I might suggest checking out some of their music other than what's in the clip. I selected these clips primarily for the musical content. This band has become one my favorite bands, and I think Nirav's too. There's not a single track by them we haven't liked.

Interesting music these guys have , sounds like a mish mash of Opeth style vocals(clean) along with some brilliant Dream Theater style guitar work the only let down are the lyrics which seem like they are from a pop band.

Dan - Second that. I found them through my Porcupine Tree and Ozric Tentacles recommendations, and ended up buying everything in their catalog in one day. Spread the word about these guys, and let's get them to the U.S. for a tour.

I now have the complete Reality Dream Trilogy, along with Voices in My Head and O2 Panic Room, that makes 3 albums and 2 EPs that are great the whole way through. Honestly, how many bands do you come across that have that kind of track record? Not many.

Riverside is freakin' unreal Just go but their stuff and put the trilogy on back-to-back-back. Oh yeah - play it LOUD. Lose yourself in the contemplative parts, than grab your jockstrap as Mariusz Duda's vocals build from tranquil and smooth to death vox and blow you away. This is some powerful shiite.

Frankly, somewhere lost in all of Dream Theater's freakazoid musical brilliance lies the heart and soul of power prog: catchy, haunting melodies, brooding, thought provoking lyrics, soaring keys and shredding guitar - and that heart and soul IS Riverside.

You like prog metal? Just go buy the stuff. You won't be sorry.

I just got SLS last night and have only listened to it a couple times through so far... right now I like the other two better, but we'll see how it grows on me.

I also bought two of the tracks from the O2 Panic room EP. Lucid Dream IV was pretty good and Back to the River was actually a cover/remake of a Pink Floyd track, Shine on You Crazy Diamond, or at least there is a very prominent and unmistakable portion from that song.

I've had Second Life Syndrome for over a week now and it's clearly a real solid album all-around. I could hear glimpses of Porc Tree and Tool throughout the album, as you insinuated above. Based on your review of R.E.M., I suspect S.L.S. may have a slightly heavier sound and a more prominent role by the singer, but I'll find this out for myself soon enough; I'll be purchasing the rest of their music whenever I get around to it.

I flipping love this band. I just found them a little over a year ago while on the prowl for new music and they've been at the top of my playlist ever since.

I started out with Second Life Syndrome which is an incredible album. In fact if you want just a taste, I highly recommend diving straight into the title track, which is still my favorite Riverside song.

Of course then Rapid Eye Movement came out and blew my mind again. On a whole I actually prefer the newer album; it has less keyboards and more of a Tool-ish feel at times which resonates with me, but it by no means discounts their second album.

I still haven't gotten around to getting a copy of Out of Myself, and really I have no excuse not to.

I only have Voices in My Head (2006) and Rapid Eye Movement (2007). The version of Voices in my Head that I have has a track entitled Out of Myself as a live track. I think the Out of Myself was a Promo CD... i have studio versions of Out of Myself and Reality dream from 2003 as a download from their official website. Can't really comment on those two releases, but I like both of the said tracks.

Apparently Rapid Eye Movement is the third album of Riverside's "Reality Dream Trilogy", the other two albums being Out Of Myself (2003) and Second Life Syndrome (2005). If you own either of these other albums, can you comment on how they compare to this one?
