I can agree with most of what you just said. I love Pelican. Their sound has changed around a bit, but its still the same and its still awesome. I only hope I'll get to see them play live some time. Seems unlikely though.

I think it's a combination of an effect they were going for in combination with internet streaming of an mp3 through shitty speakers. Not entirely paranoid, but I'm sure hearing it cranked from the CD will dispel your paranoia.

In the audio clips the drums seem to lack depth and clarity from the point of view of recording/production; the snare doesn't cut through and the bass drum feels buried. Of course I'm listening through shitty computer speakers, but the shallowness seems more noticeable than usual. Any thoughts on this, or am I just paranoid?
