OK... so I think I've come to a compromise. I agree this guy "sings" like Maynard, but I still don't think he "sounds" like him. If that makes sense. Also, this guitarist definitely has a hard-on for Adam Jones. Nonetheless, a quality album.

I can agree with the phrasing argument, but sonically I fail to hear the comparison. I'm not even sure I can agree enough to disagree... haha!

haha... any time I make a comparison with Tool or Maynard, I half-expect you to disagree with me, so I can't say I'm surprised. But I still think overall his phrasing is more similar to Maynard's than any of the guys you mentioned [except Katatonia, whose music I don't have so I can't agree or disagree].

I'm gonna have to disagree with you, Mike, about the vocals being "strikingly similar" to Maynards. The guy in Prisma utilizes a style between speaking and singing, by that I mean his voice comes more from the mouth than the throat. I hear something much more similar to the singers from Silverschair or Pressure 4-5.... or even later Katatonia. Dare I even go so far as to compare them to... Jaundis?

I'm really digging this album... They remind me of some sort of mix of Tool and early Silverchair. It's definitely more of a straight forward rock genre than this "progessive rock".
